Well lets see, school was out the end of May, and we've quickly adjusted to summer living. That first week we had temps in the 80's and 90's so it was off to the pool! I love getting a jump start on my tan. Usually we have to wait till end of June for those temps! This year I really don't have much to do at the pool besides sit and read or talk to my friends or just lay out! Keaton has reached the age where he is free to roam on his own. He is finally tall enough and swims well enough that he can go down the slide all by himself! I don't even see him till the life guards blow the whistles for the 10 minute pool breaks, or he wants to exchange the toy he is playing with. It's nice! I love going to the pool! It's what summer is all about. When I was a kid, summer time meant going to the Big Pool in our town. I would walk or ride my bike there every day! I always had constant pealing skin on my nose and shoulders, and we didn't even know what sunscreen was. It was sun tan lotion. SPF of 1 or 2. Maybe an 8 if you dared! But before my boys are let go I make sure I smear them with sun screen!
So June started and we had Keaton's 6th birthday party. I asked him what he wanted most for his birthday and he said "I want a D S!" Well that wasn't going to happen. I feel he needs to learn how to take care of a used Gameboy before he gets that expensive of a toy! So we explained that he'll have to wait till his 8th birthday for that. "What else to you want?" He then started naming off all these Wii games and Gameboy games he wanted. So off I went to Council Bluffs that Monday morning before his birthday and spent way to much money on a 6 year old. My these electronic gadgets, and everything that goes with them are expensive!
The blowing of the candles. Sorry for the blurry-ness
Keaton wanted to go bowling for his birthday, so we all headed to Cyclone Lanes in Harlan. We had the whole place to ourselves for the most part. Not many people bowl on a Tuesday night I guess, but we had a great time! Keaton loves it! He has great form too.
Bret and Ben had a hunting trip to Texas the first week in June...... stay tuned.
